What our guests say
Discover unforgettable appalachian adventures

I’m happiest when I’m out on the trail or soaking in the beauty of the mountains. One of my favorite places to spend the day is Bad Branch Falls, where the hike winds through lush forest, tumbling streams, and towering cliffs before opening up to the breathtaking waterfall. The fresh air, the sound of rushing water, and the sense of accomplishment at the end of the trail make it a place I return to again and again.

I love the Appalachian Mountains. Some of my favorite things to do include visiting the vintage antique shops, catching a play at The Appalachian Center for the Arts in Pikeville, & eating at Circle T Restaurant. All of these are operated by locals and support our community.

A beautifully arranged teacup and saucer project kit, showcasing a pristine white teacup and saucer, along with an array of colorful paints and brushes. The setting should be bright and inviting, with a wooden table and floral decorations, capturing the essence of a cozy crafting space. Include a steaming cup of tea for added warmth.

In Letcher County, I loved exploring the small communities and taking in the incredible mountain views. One of my favorite parts of the trip was wandering along Route 7 Antique Alley, discovering unique vintage treasures, handcrafted items, and pieces of the past lovingly preserved in the local shops. Each store had its own personality, and the vendors were so kind and welcoming that it felt more like visiting old friends than shopping. I also enjoyed the quiet moments while driving the winding roads, stopping at scenic overlooks, and soaking in the peacefulness of the hills.

We loved exploring the antique shopping loop while shopping @ JacLin, having a coffee at the Hazard Coffee Shop on Main Street, and visiting the historic Mother Goose House on our tour! I had a perfect lunch at Shenangans downtown. The itinerary was perfectly tailored to our interests, making it a truly personal experience.

I loved Crafty Mamma's Treasures. The store was filled with timeless vintage items. Displays of colorful Pyrex, weathered cast‑iron pots, delicate glassware, and stacks of vinyl records waiting to be rediscovered. I purchased a vintage Atari gaming system with games in perfect condition. Every booth felt like a doorway into someone’s story. I could’ve stayed all day.

During my visit to Pike County, I spent an afternoon exploring Antique Market and Antiques by the Creek. It turned out to be one of the most relaxing and enjoyable parts of my trip. Both shops had their own charm, and together they created the perfect treasure‑hunting experience.

I grew up in Southeastern Kentucky and moved away after college. Every time I return to the Appalachian Mountains, it feels like stepping back into a piece of my soul that I left behind. I grew up in these hills and hollers. I loved running through the woods and through the creeks. I continue to love the homemade country meals consisting of cornbread, soupbeans, salmon patties, and a large slide of apple stacked cake.

I highly recommend a tour of the Appalachian Mountains, locally owned restaurants, hiking trails, and vintage shops.

I love the Appalachian Mountains, especially the peaceful feeling of riding an e‑bike along Little Shepherd Trail with the wind in my face and the views stretching out across the ridges. I always make time to stop by Kingdom Come State Park to feed the ducks and enjoy the simple, gentle beauty that makes this place feel like home.

I love riding my motorcycle to Pine Mountain. Along the way I often see bears and deer crossing the highway. The sight reminds me of how wild and beautiful the Appalachian Mountains truly are. Some of my favorite days are spent riding along Little Shepherd Trail, feeling the cool mountain air as the road twists on the ridgeline. I have enjoyed countless picnics at the overlooks, but one of most cherished memories was watching a sunset.
